Mike Richie is a second-generation outfitter who grew up in Unit 17
in the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness, where his dad Gerald Richie was
in the outfitting business for over 40 years. Mike grew up in the business,
starting out packing; and as he grew older naturally graduated to guiding
bear and cougar hunts, hosting summer parties, and fishing trips. Mike
carries on the name, where in Montana and Idaho the name RICHIE means
the best kind of outfitting.
The Richie’s have a reputation for their good stock and the care
they give them. When it comes to the kind of pack mules, personal saddle
mules (which Mike raises), and surefooted mountain horses that you will
be using, there is no equal. Richie Outfitters means… comfortable
camps, the best camp gear, good food, good service and a lot of fun.
